Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Pakdemirli attended the 7th Sustainable Food Summit and World Food Day Meeting. Minister Pakdemirli stated that the impact of climate change is expected to reduce agricultural yields by 10 to 25% by 2050, and added:

“Considering that the world population is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050, and Turkey’s population is anticipated to reach 105 million by 2050, we can see how difficult it will be to ensure food security in the future with the effects of climate change.” Because feeding this population will require producing 60% more food than it does today. To produce sustainable food and reduce the effects of climate change in the process, we must follow the entire process from farm to user and expand environmentally friendly production.
